SM Hunter Posted March 13, 2016 Author Report Posted March 13, 2016 hmm yeah ill have a look at paint stripper before i blast the body, i have a small blaster with really fine sand so it does not harm sheet metal, its only the cleanup thats shit if i blast the body, the stuff finds its way everywhere! anyways, got the good old steamer out and started getting shit of thees 2.. all the grease gone, it even strips the paint if i hold it really close, but i still have to take them apart and sandblast every little bit, put on epoxy primer, paint than reassemble :) quality stamped Quote
SM Hunter Posted March 21, 2016 Author Report Posted March 21, 2016 got tired of the holes in the back hatch so i carefully welded them up put the levin front end just to see how it looks, first and last time its on the car while i own it :) can't wait for the Trueno jacked it down and just put some Borbet wheels on slicks i had laying arround, not going with these, i want RS Watanabe wheels or TE37V :) unsure to go with the TRD wing or not, thinking of restoring both my rear hatches, one with one without.. LittleRedSpirit Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 I must say I'm not a fan of those big duckwings, but do they have a good aero effect? Quote
SM Hunter Posted June 10, 2016 Author Report Posted June 10, 2016 i'v got no idea haha, i think I'm going to ditch it anyways, sawing it for a future dream build :) hopefully ill be able to afford another 86, get some N2 bodykit and make a exterior copy of the TRD N2 cars :) thats the dream atleast, this is going to be stock tho :) it getting warmer so i'v started sandblasing stuff :) LCA's crossmember going to scrape the underside of the body and just paint it, no coating or anything just paint :) so i need to remove the tectyl... hoping to flip the body and use diesel or somthing chemical :) Quote
SM Hunter Posted June 14, 2016 Author Report Posted June 14, 2016 Moved two 4A-GE's down to the workshop i have to check the condition on both, unsure if i want the redtop or bluetop ITBs are for the Rallyrolla, but i think ill buy another set for the AE86 aswell :) but i only have one proper 4A-GE RWD manifold (its in my Ralyrolla now) and i need it in the AE86 to get it registered, so therefore i need to put ITB's on the Rallyrolla :) i'm actually thinking of putting in the bluetop for the registration and builing up the redtop with cams, itbs etc, so i can put it in after its registered.. this looks to be the best on the outside, i was told it had under piston oil squirters.. and its not a SC engine, its just a Redtop with SC valve covers, my 4A-GZE is in parts and inn need of a bore :( Quote
SM Hunter Posted June 14, 2016 Author Report Posted June 14, 2016 i need to dissmantle the rest to sandblast it, found all the new bushings so now i only need bearing thingy in the end front shocks are blown Stock travel? 19cm both blown haha guessing they are cheap shocks? thinking of going with Bilsteins in all four corners.. ke70dave Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 I was very jealous of your workshop until i saw that snow......is your workshop heated?! If not do you freeze to death working on cars? haha. I lived in Canada for a year and put up with some cold, but we merely walked in the cold to and from the pub! Not worked on cars. Great updates, keep them coming, enjoyable to read. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 Dunno if hot weather and no room or freexing weather and lots of room is better lol Quote
