juicee Posted December 5, 2015 Report Posted December 5, 2015 Is there a way of identifying which model car a gearbox came from? Specifically for me a T50. Quote

parrot Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 For what is a pretty common question. I was surprised that I couldn't find a comparo image on google Put up a couple of pics of your box and some basic detail of what it is fitted to and I'm sure you will get an ID Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 Ah, misread that. Spline count is a good start. Quote
styler Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Hmmm I do recall there being 3 common versions in aus in rwd: T50 early 20 output spline short shifter housing - from the Ta22 celica suits 2t motor T50 mid era 22 ouput spline long shifter housing - from the T18 suits 3t motor T50 late model 22 output spline long shifter housing - from the AE86 suits 4ag Now I think the centre housing section could be the same but they do have different bellhousings and shifter extensions to suit the various motors and gearstick housings for different cars. May remember more later but its a start, some aftermarket close ratio gearsets still are avaliable. Edited December 6, 2015 by styler Quote
juicee Posted December 11, 2015 Author Report Posted December 11, 2015 From what I can gather is a 22 spline output, unsure if from T18 or Ae 86. Quote
juicee Posted December 11, 2015 Author Report Posted December 11, 2015 Are the seal kits for these all the same. Quote
