woodz89 Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Hi guys. Ive got a a St141 Corona with a 3 speed auto. Auto seems to be having trouble selecting reverse or park. Its like theres something stopping it from engaging anything above neutral. Ive disconnected the selector rod and its definitely something internal in the box.. Looking for any advice on what the problem might be. I'm thinkinh it mite be easier to just put a 4-5 speed manual in it but I'm not sure what boxs will fit straight in.. Any ideas or advice is greatly appreciated guys. Cheers Quote
woodz89 Posted September 23, 2015 Author Report Posted September 23, 2015 Actually can anybody tell me what the 3 speed auto model actually is. Ive been told its a bw 34 or a bw 40. Can anybody add some light on this. Its a st141 2s engined. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 In all honesty it's probably not worth fixing. I would think if you shopped around that you wouldnt pay more than $20 for another gearbox. Have you done a fluid change? Quote
woodz89 Posted September 23, 2015 Author Report Posted September 23, 2015 Nah i haven't changed the fluid, i've just bought this car, one owner from new, all original and overrated condition. Only had it about 2 months and just use it to drive to work and back. Being as i only bought it recently don't wanna throw the car away.. Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 I've had a couple of my cars not finding reverse... checked fluid and was very low. Topped them up and good as new. I know it's a stupid question but is she low on fluid? Quote
woodz89 Posted September 23, 2015 Author Report Posted September 23, 2015 well, to be honest didn't check it. cars on stands rite now so i could get under it, ill go have a look and let ya know Quote
