greenmac80 Posted August 17, 2015 Author Report Posted August 17, 2015 Alrighty. So front end going back together. Painted the radius arms and the centre bearing x member. Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 17, 2015 Author Report Posted August 17, 2015 more rust. driver rear quarter had to reconstruct both skins. unfortunately i didnt take any snaps of the welded bits. and unfortunate but some bog had to go back in it at least its only thin amounts now not inch thick sections. and we have primer. epoxy. greenmac80 Posted August 17, 2015 Author Report Posted August 17, 2015 Diff back in to get it all rolling nearly finished with the disc brake setup. has new wheel bearing in it. Also got an LSD lined up now for a great price. Engine mounts boxed and painted. motor back in. motor was bought as an unknown. super happy to see how clean it was underneath its covers. Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 19, 2015 Author Report Posted August 19, 2015 more painting progress plus body shot of the rub down so far. coming up pretty good. Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 so progress may have seemed to slow down but u guarantee you it hasnt. Got this fender in primer. completely metal finished. Also been rubbing back the body. the epoxy stuff is hard to work. Reprimed it today in regular high fill. Also currently in the process of painting the boot and bonnet topsides. Rubbed down and a tinted sealer applied. This green is quite guttless so added some green to the primer helps with coverage. mind the booth. shop is sooo full right now its become a bit of a storage area. Fully completed one side of the ma70 rear brake upgrade. i'm personally not a fan of the whole thing and will be changing it at a later date to a much simpler and less modified design. Pulled the sump off the 1uz and its as clean down low as it is up top. super happy about that. repaired the sump as well. also have gasket set timing kit and water pump on the way. Also got a box of sound deadening. PING JING. supposedly better than dynamat and half the cost. guess we'll see. Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 24, 2015 Author Report Posted August 24, 2015 So Painted stuff. Will wait a couple days then buff it all to a perfect shine. Also acquired a crown oil plate. B&M shifter cable brackets. Idler pulley bearings. Also acquired some front tyres freebies with great tread. Quote
Mechanical Sympathy Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 The incredible progress you're making with this project gives me the motivation to keep going on my own, while simultaneously making me feel anxious about the lack thereof! Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 26, 2015 Author Report Posted August 26, 2015 haha thanks. its been a stressful few months. only to get worse!! So here we have it. Sealer/ground coat basecoat cleared. pretty happy. been fairly rushed so it aint perfect but huge improvements 1 Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 27, 2015 Author Report Posted August 27, 2015 so today i rugged up.... then underbody tarred the underside. put stone guard on the sills and satin paint. adds protection and will allow the chrome to pop a lil more tomorrow will see the body polished and back over to mate up with the chassis.
