JiP Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 Oh really, I didn't notice :bash: Within time it will be painted too. Buying a new compressor soon. I should have gone to my sisters and used my brother in laws compressor but I was hoping to rip the engine out of SL2 today. Sadly By the time I was finished spraying the car with the can, I was almost ready for the next coat. I HATE SPRAY CANS!! Quote
JiP Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 Well an update... I decided to do my bonnet yesterday, so I stuck another on it while I was painting. And when you thought my car couldn't be any more colours!! Anyway, the bonnet at the starting point... All sanded back... All primed up and beginning the yellow... All glossed up... And the end result!! I'm stoked!! Hope to do a spare guard and apron this weekend, then I will do the remaining guard, radiator support panel and the vents in front of the windshield last before sticking her back together!! Quote
JiP Posted August 10, 2008 Author Report Posted August 10, 2008 Okay, well let me start by saying that I have gone back and edited most of the earlier posts and reloaded my pics. (all the ones I could find) Okay so most of you should already have noticed that I'm on painting mode. Its been too long since I had my crash that Lolla has been so many colours. Well I reported of a KE55 at my local wreckers with good parts. The bonnet and dash went but I was shocked to find good pillar covers and good drivers and passengers guards. Here are the guards primed. All the guards painted. Here is the radiator support panel after being painted. I ordered these from ebay. They are Thai reproduction lenses. They don't come with the metal divider or the rubber seal that seals it to the bracket. So I had to reuse the old ones. lucky for my the old lenses were aftermaket and not stock so they had a removable divider. Here she is at night after I finished putting her together. It got dark quick and I couldn't find parts and tools. I ended up using my headlights for about an hr and a half and it still didn't flatten my battery. Here she is all one colour. She looks off cause I couldn't get the passenger guard to fit right. Turns out its a repro guard. It has a massive gap next to the windshield and I adjusted the door and still the door couldn't open. I didn't have time to take it off drill/move hole to make it fit so I forced the door open so I could go out. I'll hopefully paint up the old guard this week and stick her back on. Quote
JiP Posted August 10, 2008 Author Report Posted August 10, 2008 No, not actually. there are a few layers of paint on the bonnet. The bonnet had stone chips as well as it was flaking. I was trying to sand it back smooth but I did a crappy job cause I rushed it. I need to strip all the paint off it and start fresh. Quote
JiP Posted August 12, 2008 Author Report Posted August 12, 2008 Was on a photo frenzy today... The front. So hot, haven't been this hot in years. You can see the bad guard. Hopefully fix that this weekend. And the side. The doors hopefully will be next. As for the Toyota it will come off. I was thinking of replacing it with black stripes. Either 2 Black GT type stripes or 3 stripes, either thick or thin like the KE35 or KE55 hardtops. But the stripes will be at the bottom of the doors and the car might have a break in the stripes where "Corolla" will be written on the back door... MAYBE Any thoughts?? Quote

JiP Posted August 31, 2008 Author Report Posted August 31, 2008 Well today I finally did something about the sloppy excuse for brakes in my KE30. Here are the old, spongy and padless brakes I was driving with... Here are the New. These Girlocks I removed of my old Red hardtop. I painted them Red but the STUPID brake fluid leaked and removed alot of paint. And after. looks cool. Maybe this week I might spray the rear hubs red. And here is Winky, its now safe enough to drive my car. And I thought I'd take a pick of my front at night. On the drive home my Fuel guage, Temp guage, charge light, oil light, demister and reverse lights stopped working. I never would have guessed but it was my demister fuse that popped and it controls all of them. You can't see too well but this was a Test fitting of my new carpets for my boot. The finally arrived the other day after months of waiting. Quote
