Anyone have experience with draw through turbo setups? Got mine running pretty well.. but seems restricted, when revving it seems sluggish and restricted.. any ideas why? When driving higher rev range seems ok.. but wondering what can cause it to seem like it struggles to rev? I'm thinking timing or flywheel too heavy.. happy for opinions. T2 turbo a inch and 3 quarter Stromberg su thing.

Is it smokey? What do the plugs look like after a good run, also check the compressor wheel ,drawthrough can send all sorts of stuff into there which may have chewed it up...

Should be plenty.

What's timing at?

I found exhaust size and back pressure can make a fair bit of difference in mid range response and spool rate.

What type of muffler do you have on the end of said 2.5" pipe?

i think it is straight through .. still makes the thing silent though

maybe I'm expecting the old 4k to rev too much, but just doesnt seem right.. maybe its the exhause too big for down low...

If its straight through with no muffler I would highly recommend putting one on. You'll be amazed what it will do for the mid range. When my old one snapped off, I gained maybe just a slight bit more flow right at the top of the rev range but it want worth what was lost in the mid. Got a new offset straight through put on a couple of weeks later and was really surprised what I was missing.

Nahh I got a straight through baffled looking thing.. timing now at 25° and seems to make a difference... Goes better too... For a $50 4k it got to 60mph pretty quick.. seems the fun starts at around 10psi

Hehe, you think 10 is fun...wind it up to around 15-17! At least with the draw-through you don't have to worry about fuel pressure issues when upping the boost.

Need something that will take boost.. wonder if 15psi will be ok for a short squirt :). Goes well for a prehistoric turbo setup... Need a Damn tachometer though no idea how hard I'm revving it

If its tuned well and maintained it will take it, my motors have never been anything real spacial.

With a t2 I reckon you'd be better off grabbing another cog than revving the date out of it.
