Hmmm... I think you need a thrust bearing carrier to slide on that section which has a thrust bearing pressed onto it.

Then the clutch fork sits behind the carrier and pushes it to engage the bearing with the clutch fingers. You may find

second hand or aftermarket carrier to suit ae86. Some people convert to a hydraulic throw out bearing which replaces

the carrier with a new setup, names like tilton, howe and some saab setup are worth a google.

For partnumbers look at toyodiy Use a 1980 Corolla te7 for searching Should be right

Id try finding a used fork and carrier. What engine are you using it for? T series?

Just as styler said you need the hub that the bearing fits to ,as well as the clips which i no you can buy new .

The box looks like the later type not early, although the bell housing looks like a t series.(t18 series 2)

I would think buying a new clutch fork and hub would be long shot .

I would ring up your nearest gearbox rebuilding out fit as most of them have a few old junkers under a bench some where.

You can get a "clutch bearing Assembly" for a 1980 Corolla 1.8 from rockauto

Should include carrier and clips. Cheap and easy ;) . Still will need a fork tho

I guess will have to buy the toyodiy part numbers and hope it will fit.

On the first diagram you posted (don't post screen shots from that site!) the thing identified as a "hub - 31231" is the bearing carrier. It fits over and slides along the bearing retainer, which is the pipe that fits over the splined gearbox input shaft.

The thrust bearing 31231A is pressed onto the hub.

The fork 31240 pushes and pulls the hub up and down the bearing retainer in response to hydraulic pressure when you operate the clutch pedal. The bearing itself presses against the clutch cover (pressure plate) springs allowing the clutch plate to be released from the flywheel when you push in the clutch. it also has little clips to keep the hub located properly on the fork.

Often (but not always) when you buy a thrust bearing from US aftermarket part suppliers, it comes already pressed onto the carrier which is a nifty way to obtain the carrier which is usually missing when you buy a gearbox which has been standing for a while.

Clearly you need the right hub, bearing and fork. The retainer clip types are also different between early T50's and later T50's.

I'm not up on the various clutch setups, but it looks like you have an early type cast clutch fork. Yours looks the later type which used a pressed steel fork.

So you need to determine which box you have so you can order the correct parts. There is lots of discussion on the various forums about identifying T50's so it shouldn't be too hard. I'll even buy that the fork and carrier off you if you like - for a good price!
