silentfoxx Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Hi everyone. I have a project Ke15 which I really want to get on the road. I have a 5k and ke70 gearbox to go in but need to connect it to my ke15 driveshaft. Any suggestions? Thanks heaps in advance. Andy. Quote
altezzaclub Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Spend money- Check that the KE15 d'shaft fits in the K50 g'box properly. Otherwise see if a KE70 g'box front yoke will fit your d'shaft., but expect the length to be wrong. If so, measure exactly how many mm long it needs to be and give it all to a driveshaft shop. They might have to cut the whole KE15 yoke off at the right length and weld on a KE70 one. Mine cost $225 or so to shorten 8mm. Quote
Jono.C Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Ke1x tailshaft won't fit ke70 box as is.. Get a ke30 yoke, it's correct for that gearbox and also has the same smaller unis as the ke1x tailshaft. Works overrated Quote
mattress Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 As far as I'm aware an auto KE10 shaft and yoke will fit the KE70 5 speed and is the correct length. Quote
philbey Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 there are 3 different spline sets, my toyoglide was different from the KE55 5 speed and the Ke70 5 speed splines. Length is the same, just get your hands on a matching yoke and get a gearbox joint to swap them and rebuild at the same time. Quote
