Need to upgrade to a strong diff for a KE70. Planned power is over 300rwkw and will be used for circuit racing only. No street stuff

CIG diffs and spools are out as there's a lot of tight twisty stuff so a 2 way lsd in there.

Recommendations and fails are all welcome so let me know plz

Obviously something from a car with over 300rwkw as stock. Walkinshaw or FPV can fix you up, but anything 4WD is too weak as they split the torque and Skylines don't make 900KW reliably. Lexus, Bugatti, Lamborghini, just check out your local wrecker...

go a hilux diff , wouldnt you want a 1 or 1.5 way for circuit racing , 2way for drifting?

i'm not sure what lsd's are available for them but they will take 300kw easy

Factory hilux diffs aren't THAT strong, Broken 2 axles and 1 centre so far.. With billet axles yes, Stock 400000k old clunker no..

Volvo diffs are pretty tough, Fairly cheap too as volvo's are gross so everyone chucks them out

I actually scrapped a 240GL a couple years back n now you mention it the thing is about the right track. Had a lot of faith in that car except for k tronic injection lol

What kind of centres can go in them to your knowledge mate?

what engine /car and power did you have to manage that?

good discussion here on the hilux diff where post no4 mention oke20 runs one with just cut down resplined axles

surely a ke70 circuit car would have a 4cyl turbo engine ( prob 4agte or sr20det) and never break a hilux diff , any bigger engine would be heavy and not good for track times

Don't be a hater but it has a turbo ecotec and T56 going in. Torque output will be a bit silly but just in it for fun cos I already have the combo here ready to go

How big and what sort of tyres?

Diffs are a funny thing. some people get away with a factory ke70 diff with 300hp. Oother people manage to destroy the standard diff with a 4k-C.

We put a YR22 torago diff in a mates ae86 many years ago. Pretty chunky diff, and the beauty is you can get LSDs from an altezza and shoe-horn it on. (research the details on that before buying one!)
