Mechanical Sympathy Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Is it out of petrol? Can you see fuel in the fuel filter? Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Either charge the battery overnight or jump with another battery as well. Just make sure there is a spark at a spark plug. Make sure there is petrol being pumped down the throat when you hit the accelerator. I know the pump on my gold car is dodgy and that makes it hard to start. Then pour about 20ml of petrol straight down the carb and start it on full choke. Quote
HIGH_ROLLA Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 not out of petrol can see it in the filter, opened up pump and also has fuel in it, battery is charged. I'm going to test if fuel is coming out of fuel line after pump or not maybe it isnt getting to the carb and only to pump even tho i recently replaced the pump Quote
HIGH_ROLLA Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 ok so no fuel to the weber but the pump is only a couple of months old and i can't find any faults in it when taken apart. could there be something before the pump that would not allow it to pump through? like a blockage or dirty filter etc? or do i just replace pump and see if thats it? just want to know if theres anything i can do tonight until i get to a new pump tomorrow cheers Quote
GJM85 Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) There is a big brass bung/nut under the fuel inlet of the weber. Inside is a gauze filter. This could be blocked or your needle and seat assembly could be jammed. Edited July 29, 2014 by GJM85 Quote
corollaart Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 So theres no fuel ,take the fuel line off before the pump and put some pressure into the fuel tank . Remove cap stuff some rag around ,a air line .into tank see what comes out. Then try it the other way round listen for it bubbling in the tank. That will rule out blockage of the line. Quote
corollaart Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 If there is no blockage that end put the line back on the pump . Then remove the line on the carb side of the pump. Turn it over see what comes out. If nothing pump is shagged. If its pumping fuel ,blow the line out between pump and carb. If its got fuel to the carb do what GJM suggested See a pattern here. rob Quote
HIGH_ROLLA Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 yea cheers for you're help but yea going to try a new pump as i said because i have fuel to pump but not weber and the line isnt blocked but the pump is new and i can't find a fault in it but ill swap it just too see Quote
HIGH_ROLLA Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 if its not the pump then ill have to go in somewhere with air compressor and check the line to the tank but i doubt its that as theres fuel up to the pump but i guess it could be blocked and not allowing whatever fuel is left in the line to flow Quote
HIGH_ROLLA Posted August 26, 2014 Author Report Posted August 26, 2014 pump was faulty replaced and started first go Quote
