AntonyLupin Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 More than one year ago, I've bought a Ke70 1980 the one with quadlights. I have in mind a complete factory restoration, a clean look with maybe some lowering and small details as an extra. Nothing special. Where I live, in Malta Europe, it's very hard to find parts and stuff. Infact I have struggled a lot to find parts I have today. One things I'm looking for at the moment and can't really find is the chrome trims. The ones that are on each of the four doors at the bottom of the window and also at the back of the rear doors, the same trims that the '82 GL models/versions used to come out with. Can anyone help me on this? I really appreciate your further help and would like to thank all in advance. Regards Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 I can ask the wrecker how much he wants for them if you like. So long as you don't want the long ones on the gutters then I should be able to package them OK. LoL! One of my KE70s has chrome and the other has black rubber.. I never noticed! Quote
AntonyLupin Posted July 4, 2014 Author Report Posted July 4, 2014 Yes please do. Can you also send me a pic of them so we'll know what we're talking about exactly? Well if you send me separate prices I can decide if I'll buy both as well. Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 OK, I'll pop down the wrecker on Monday and get some prices and photos. Quote
AntonyLupin Posted July 5, 2014 Author Report Posted July 5, 2014 Thanks a lot. I really appreciate your help :) Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 OK, are these the ones? The wrecker has a beige car and a blue car both with chrome strips. The vertical chrome strip up the rear 'C' pillar. Beige passenger front- Beige passenger rear- Beige drivers rear- ..and sadly no driver's door! Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 The blue passenger side- Blue drivers rear- But the driver's window has had it removed! Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Ah, but wait! Look inside! So the wrecker wants $60 for the six bits, I'll take $25 on top to get them, and if they're what you want I'll ask the post office how much mailing will be. cheers Quote
AntonyLupin Posted July 10, 2014 Author Report Posted July 10, 2014 You're the man :) Yes please, just ship ALL the chrome pieces found. If there's the chrome trims of above the doors get it as well. I look forward in getting a reply from you soon. Many many thanks, I appreciate a lot your help :) Quote
AntonyLupin Posted July 10, 2014 Author Report Posted July 10, 2014 Which country is this? Ahh it would be nice if I could get the cars as well :) just adk him how much is he asking for them. I don't know what I might come up with. In Malta we find no parts and no cars like them :( Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 The cars are cheap here in Australi for the next few years, maybe a decade, until they all get destroyed. A couple of hundred dollars might get you one with a reasonable body and a blown-up engine, or $500 for a running car. Over $1000 will buy a really straight nice one. Then several thousand dollars to ship it to Malta! How much do you want to spend? You can ask shipping companies at your end what it will cost to get a car from Australia to Greece or Italy and then ferry it over. Quote
AntonyLupin Posted July 11, 2014 Author Report Posted July 11, 2014 Are there any 2doors left by any chance? Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 Nope, well, not in KE70. They were never sold here so are really rare, only in Aussie if people imported them 'specially. South Africa had them, I don't know where else but I'm sure they got to NZ. Quote
AntonyLupin Posted July 13, 2014 Author Report Posted July 13, 2014 It's ok. So, when you have the reply on the upper/top chrome strips as well we can proceed with shipping if you want :) Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 Which is the upper chrome strip? The long one along the gutter?? Quote
