OdinNL Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Hey Guys, For a time now my charge warning light has been on, even though it has been holding nicely at 14.3 volts when running, changed out the alternator just to check (I had a spare around) but ofcourse that didn't work. should I be looking for broken cables ? what do you guys think. Banjo Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Hi Odin, Does your KE35 have a Denso or a Bosch alternator fitted ? If Denso, is it one with an external relay regulator box ? Cheers Banjo Quote
OdinNL Posted June 24, 2014 Author Report Posted June 24, 2014 Its a Denso one with external regulator. Quote
Banjo Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) When you changed the alternator, was it with another Denso ? Did you change the external regulator also ? The warning light works quite differently from the Bosch unit to the Denso unit. If you changed the alternator, but not the regulator, that would be my first bet. Try changing the alternator regulator & see if that fixes it. Cheers Banjo Edited June 25, 2014 by Banjo Quote
