Andrew ke70 Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Hey guys, I was just wondering what radiator I should run in my KE70 for my 16v 4age conversion? I've read ae86 and ae71, but just want to hear what others have done. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Stock ke70 rad will work fine on a stock 4age. Quote
Andrew ke70 Posted April 25, 2014 Author Report Posted April 25, 2014 Cheers mate that's what I was gonna end up doing. So the inlet and outlet position are alright? Quote
rian Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 The top hose position is fine, but the bottom hose is on the wrong side. You can still easily make it work, you will just have a really long bottom hose and it will probably require a bracket to keep it up off the swaybar. Alternatively you can use an AE71, AE86 or even a Hyundai Exel radiator. Quote
Andrew ke70 Posted April 27, 2014 Author Report Posted April 27, 2014 Cheers mate thinking about going ae71 radiator then but what fan can you use? Is there an engine driven fan that will fit the 4age? Quote
rian Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) Cheers mate thinking about going ae71 radiator then but what fan can you use? Is there an engine driven fan that will fit the 4age? I'm using an AE82 thermo fan/shroud combo on an AE71 radiator in my KE70, I just made up some mounts and bolted it on. The shroud covers about 3/4 of the radiator. Or you could just mount a universal thermo fan, which is super easy. I'm pretty sure there is an engine driven fan for 4AGEs but they would be hard to find as they would only have come on the RWD 4AGEs. Edited April 27, 2014 by rian Quote
Andrew ke70 Posted April 27, 2014 Author Report Posted April 27, 2014 Yeah sorry I didn't mention this is a rwd 4age. I was gonna get an ae71 radiator and use the thermofan I have. Quote
Andrew ke70 Posted April 28, 2014 Author Report Posted April 28, 2014 How do I mount the thermofan to ae71 radiator, what shroud? Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 I had a shround made that adapted a stock sv10 camry fan to the ae71 radiator. You realy should try and get every fin of the thing ducted through the radiator fan with no air leaks. Air will take the easiest path, so you need to duct it properly or it will flow around the core.
