Mechanical Sympathy Posted May 11, 2014 Report Posted May 11, 2014 now we are getting loopy, a twin downdraft carb can be anything you want son have your dreams and sugar them with honey Pretty sure you were talking about manifolds, not carburettors. I've never heard of anyone refer to a standard KE30 inlet manifold as the "high port twin downdraught" one until now. So rest assured that there is nothing special about your manifold except that it appears to have been match ported to whatever head it was attached to previously. Instead I'd respectfully suggest the head might be of more interest to you, despite the engine throwing a leg out of bed. Quote
diegoh Posted May 14, 2014 Author Report Posted May 14, 2014 It hasnt been match ported its got original cast mark inside so your match porting suggetion is bogus, as for high port, never heard of an exhaust high port manifold so its getting boring Quote
Mechanical Sympathy Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) You're welcome "high port" man. Edited May 14, 2014 by Mechanical Sympathy Quote
GJM85 Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) You will probably find that with the running out of the 3k motors & having an excess of under sold BP engine components, engines were assembled with end of stock parts, i.e. Big ports heads. It's likely that a single carb port matched manifold was cast up to suit these heads to clear old stocks & make way for the new 4k engine. Edited May 14, 2014 by GJM85 Quote
