TJ'sKE10 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Hey guys just bought my first 1969 KE10 which is in really good original condition the only thing holding me back is the front struts which have collapsed.. Just wondering if anyone knows what the easiest way is to replace them or upgrade them. I am wanting to keep it as original as possible. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Quote
#QLDke10# Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Hey TJ where are you located? I know of a ke10 in bundaberg that i just cut a whole bunch of stuff off i needed and the guy is moving to Newcastle in a week so. If your based in qld and want original struts ill pm you his number. Otherwise swap them for ke20 struts Quote
drewsith Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 i run custom modified ke55 struts with koni parts, king springs, noltec strut tops and removed the transverse leaf...........handles like a dream!! and droped the front by about 3-4 inches, road clearance still looks normal but brought the guards down to the rims edge. parrot Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Do you mean the dampers have failed? If original, the tubes are oil filled with a removable piston with valving. Not worth trying to fix them. Better to replace with new inserts. Not easy to find, but have a look in the FAQ for ideas Quote
