asirike20 Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 does any one know what is this thing(red circle) on 4k carbs???? and the purpose of it????? Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 I asked the same question the other week... can't remember the answer. Sorry. Quote
Kirill Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 i took it apart when i was rebuilding my carb. Inside is a plate that bends with heat. When it bends it opens a valve that opens an air passage that links top and bottom of carburetor. So i recon it gives more idle speed when air temp is hot. Quote
oldie Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) To do with controlling idle speed I think. Edited February 20, 2014 by oldie Quote
asirike20 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 ahhhhhhhhhhhh thats strange......... my one is not connected to the bottom............ will it affect mileage or performance or anything????? Quote
GJM85 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) It is a thermostatic valve for the choke. There is no performance gain to be had, by disconnecting it. These carburettors are most efficient with all their bells and whistles. Edited February 21, 2014 by GJM85 Quote
