jnr_13 Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 Hi guys, Been a member for a while and have finally purchased a 1971 ke11 corolla. At the moment its original and was sitting around in a shed for about 5years. I'm planning a 7k conversion and wanted to upgrade the front brakes from drums to discs. Ive read that the simplist will be a ke20 front brake setup. I believe they also have the same stud pattern which will enable me to keep the 12inch wheels and chrome dress rims. Can anyone help as to what I will need exactly? and if someone has bits and pieces for sale. Would like to eventually lower the front and rear. Cheers Quote
kickn5k Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 For the 20 brakes you'll need. Backing plates, rotors, hubs, calipers and the rubber hoses. I'll see what I have left at home. With lowering the ke1X's best/cheapest way is to use ke20 lowered springs(Peders or kings), ke20 shock inserts, ke20 top spring perch and ditch the traverse leaf. Your going to want to fit a swaybar too. Quote

kickn5k Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the heads up. yeah if you have or know any one that has any bits and pieces to suit let me know Ok I have ke-20 backing plates, calipers, hoses and rotors, but no hubs. The rotors are undersize and the calipers haven't been used in many years by the looks of things, so they'd need pulling apart and checking at a minimum. Going by that your welcome to have them.
