Medicine_Man Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Weirdest thing happened this afternoon on the highway on my way home, there was this grey AU falcon in front of me doing 100km/hr, ( In a 110km/hr Zone) when he finally made his mind up to change into the left lane I dropped back into 4th and nailed it past him, probably got up to like 120km/hr and when I looked in the rear vision mirror (In-between changing lanes) could see red and blue lights flashing from what seemed to be from under the front bar, My intitial thoughts were "f@$k, is that a D Car?" I slowed back down to the limit and it then drove past me and stayed in front of me for a while, Then a red Falcon and Commodore went flying past us both, The grey AU then sped up a bit and got in between the red falcon and the commodore, Then the red falcon took off a bit and the grey AU did the same thing with the lights, yet didn't pull anyone it over, to me they seemed to be egging people on so they could hit the lights? weird.. :D Quote
Super Jamie Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 i didnt think unmarked cars had lights exterior to the car (kinda defeats the purpose of having the car unmarked yeah?), even D cars have the magnetic light on a curly cord, or lights on the dash behind the windscreen. in nsw anyway. was it a stock six or an XR8? i'm generally untrusting of any new or previous-to-new model saloon. mangas and camrys included nowadays maybe they were hurrying to a drug bust or something. it's pretty widely known that detectives and general duties usually don't give a f@$k about minor traffic offences, and even major ones. i could tell a few stories where we've gotten away with insane shit because the cops who saw us weren't highway patrol Quote
Medicine_Man Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 Think it was just a 6, didn't really have that D Car feel about it, thats why I flogged past it.. Quote
ae71neo Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 The d cars up here usually have lights behind the grille. Quote
Nitephyre Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 yep most newer ones have lights concealed in the grille... the other ways to tell is of course the pursit rims, and also generally a crimestoppers sticker, few surplus antennas and of cours the largeish guys in the car... Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I'll get my neighbour to run the plates :D shhhh hehe Quote
Medicine_Man Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 I usually hesitate going fast past any new commodores / falcons with pursuit rims, but this had what appeared to be stock rims.. they are getting harder to pick these days.... Quote
Super Jamie Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 haha remember the old days? SSs with pursuit rims, when they come normally with factory mags. they so werent fooling anyone :D Quote

On main roads too mind you...stupid in hind sight but nice of him to give me the oppertunity to redeem myself. Quote
demuire Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I've been let off a couple of times before in the Corolla... But I've been absolutely shafted more than enough times in the Lancer (*random* checks, talks, follow homes, interrogations... all this virtually weekly) Quote
demuire Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I never get done for speeding, I generally don't speed. I do sometimes get pulled over for not slowing down enough for corners though... Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Is there anything better then a nice twisty road with a high speed limit? Quote
ae71neo Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I do sometimes get pulled over for not slowing down enough for corners though... You can get pulled over for that?? Quote
demuire Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I do sometimes get pulled over for not slowing down enough for corners though... You can get pulled over for that?? You can also get charged for reckless driving if the officer decides he doesn't like you Quote
demuire Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Rear seats folded down??? What on earth is wrong with having your seats folded down? Taken out maybe, but folded down... That's just ridiculous. Does that mean that if you're going to the hardware shop to buy some planks and you fold your seat down then you should be defected??? Quote
