Jossy Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Does anyone know whats involved in putting a VN commodore rear sway bar in an AE71? Is there any modifications that need to be made in order for it to fit? Thanks! 1 1 Quote
rian Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Go to the wreckers and measure one up? Or go for another option that you know fits. There are Whiteline swaybars on ebay for good prices, also RA40, MA45, RA60, RA65, MA61, SA63, RT142, ST141 and AE86 REAR swaybars will fit. VN swaybars are probably huge and may lift your inside rear wheel. At the very minimum the mods to fit it will be buying the correct size swaybar to diff mount bushings, but apparently the VN rear swaybars do fit AE71s/KE70s. Edited January 21, 2014 by rian Quote
Jossy Posted January 21, 2014 Author Report Posted January 21, 2014 Thanks for the info, Vn rear sway bars are 19mm thick and the whiteline ones are 18mm thick I'm pretty sure, i can get a vn swaybar for $50 from the wreckers where as a whiteline one is $250. The whiteline would be the better option but if it works $50 is pretty cheap :) Quote
KE70+AE92 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Let us know how you go with this mod, would be a great cheap upgrade for people who don't wanna spend to much cash. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Its never going to work. Look under a VN. Done. Quote
Jossy Posted January 21, 2014 Author Report Posted January 21, 2014 Will do mate, hopefully it does, I've heard of people doing this before and the sway bars do look very similar... Quote
