nerfbat Posted December 20, 2013 Author Report Posted December 20, 2013 first drama: Wiring He told me, it had a 'twitchy' right indicator. he demonstrated this by wiggling it the wire leading into the alloy base of the indicator and it would occasionally work i think, no probs, easy fix. WRONG.... couldnt source an issue in the indicator, it tested ok. so i worked back towards the bike, taking off the tank to find this didnt take many pics, but there were at least 4 wires all melted together in the harness at the front tank mounting point. as i wanted to get it sorted asap for the upcoming RWC, I merely cut out the cancer and replaced them with new wire. will be ordering a new 40th harness in the new year, they are only $100 last time i looked, for one, complete with switch blocks, etc. got it all sorted, tested ok, bolted her back together and go to meet Adam, the guy who bought my black one, for a cruise.. no right indicator.... must be some loose connection in there somewhere had no time to look at it today, as we had our work breakup pool party, where many drinks were had, and i found my long lost twin will be setting my alarm to get up early and try sort it before my 10 am RWC thanks for your time Quote
ke70dave Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 I saw someone riding one of these rediculously small motorbikes on coronation drive today, never seen one before. It looked like that black one in the background of one of your photos. Sooo small. Quote
nerfbat Posted December 22, 2013 Author Report Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) sorted out the indicator issue, it was just a poor earth. passed RWC today, so she goes into my name on monday..! took Adam for the obligatory Flagstone ck - Murphy's ck pub - Benny's today to celebrate had a ball, but got sunburnt as hell Edited December 22, 2013 by nerfbat Quote
nerfbat Posted December 23, 2013 Author Report Posted December 23, 2013 just got home from getting her transferred into my name. also got a replacement number plate, as the old one had seen better days, and wanted to give the police one less reason to pull me over then i rock around to Clark Rubber to get some high density foam to do the seat, as it hurt my tail bone on the 50+km cruise i did the other day with Adam. when i go to the guy at the off cuts and explain what i wanted, he looked at me funny, signals his workmate over, and i'm wondering wtf? his workmate comes over and says, "so that was you?" and i sorta take a half step back and say, "sorry, what?" "The Zed with the ape hangers? that was you at Murphys Ck?" i laugh and say yeah. long story short, I met Cross's brother, Brett, who works there and looked after me. the lady in the shop comes out, takes some pics with Brett on it, and on its own, giggling hard at me..lol after a bit of tyre kicking, i shake Brett's hand, say my goodbyes and get into it seat with the cover taken off the foam. i have enough to do a couple if it stuffed up now, after i fit the foam, the old cover didnt quite stretch back to cover it all, so i used it to hold it in place, tightly, and covered it with my old bandana, til i can find something better very happy with the comfort, not sure if a fan of the cover yet tho Quote
