Alternator went on my way home from Sydney and limped into Campbelltown. Had it replaced plus cost of a motel room.

 

Is it possible to replace the diodes or regulator, and keep it as a spare?

Yes, you can buy a new rectifier / regulator / brushes etc new. Best bet is auto electrics australia as they are a denso agent.

 

Find the alternator number and they should be able to cross reference the part for you.
