ksev94 Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 Hey guys, my 4k ke70 is overheating and losing coolant. I can't see any leaks, Any suggestion? Quote
Aussie_KE70 Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 it could be a Head gasket by the sounds mate. Even if there is no coolant in the water it could be leaking between the cylinders and being pushed out the exhaust. Is your cooling system under heaps of pressure?? Does the oil filler cap on the rocker cover have a white foam build up?? Quote
Chairs with Flares Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 Any signs of water in your oil? Looks like a milkshake when you drain the oil. Any signs of combustion gasses in your coolant? Start the car with the radiator cap off and see/sniff if there is any exhaust gasses bubbling up through the coolant. Are there any cooler/hotter spots on your radiator core? Any smoke on start up? Quote
ksev94 Posted November 8, 2013 Author Report Posted November 8, 2013 There's no white foam around the oil filler cap but i haven't checked the oil for a milky look. When i start it up the coolant bubbles a little bit but looks normal, Ive hopefully got a mechanic looking at it this monday coming so i hope its alright aha Quote
Aussie_KE70 Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 there should be no bubbles in your coolant. My 4k head gasket let go about 3 weeks ago. it leaked between the cylinders. There was no coolant in the oil, but it was bubbling in the coolant. Also the cooling systemn was under heaps of pressure. Quote
CREEDY Posted December 1, 2013 Report Posted December 1, 2013 take the thermostat out and check again for bubbles. also check your waterpump for play. Quote
