B.L.Z.BUB Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 As Dave said. Can I be your boyfriend? Seriously this is real food for thought, I love the piggy back ECU idea. I'm thinking make my drive train unbreakable then delving into this. I have a spare SC12 how about a 4AGZZE? Quote
Sznaps Posted November 16, 2013 Author Report Posted November 16, 2013 glad you like it :-) B.L.Z.BUB piggy backing is good when you play with just increasing boost in gze to handle more fuel adjustments and this 5500 problem. With havier mods I think it will not do. twin supercharger - I do not know ;-) - its double the heat and double the parasitic drag on 1.6 engine. Maybe you would get boost but air would be so hot that I do not think knocking could be avoided. The idea just feels somehow wrong :-) Quote
Sznaps Posted November 20, 2013 Author Report Posted November 20, 2013 one thing that is remaining to do is to increase engine vent. with 1.2b max boost I noticed after this season that my oil pan is sweating oil on seals after some harder riding. I have put fresh seal at the beginning of this year so my conclusion is that engine cannot vent itself efficiently enough and what I'm gonna do this year or at the beginning of next - I will bore existing vent and add another to second cam cover moreless like on this photo below. It does the job in cosworth escort so should also do the job here. How is the technical name for it in english? Is it crankcase breather vent? Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 Buy another rocker cover with the vent already in it. Then you have two oil fillers for maximum jdm points. Quote
Sznaps Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 well yeah but you know then I would have to get rid of the "supercharcharged" cover which I like + the original vents I am not sure are just efficient enough. Double oil caps are however very tempting ;-) Quote
jasdall Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 Hi all. This is going to be my first post and this is going to be in this very interesting post. Recently I just swapped a 4agze in my AE92 previously 4AF carbed. Sznaps today I sent you an email. I am still in doubt if I am going to turbo or go twin. My 4agze is the large port with AFM but DLI from a levin not from MR2. Ive seen your vids 100 times and maybe more + liked every video and subscribed. :-) Quote
Sznaps Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) ok last piece of puzzle installed (vents) and already tested. much better :-) Edited May 12, 2014 by Sznaps Quote
Sznaps Posted July 19, 2014 Author Report Posted July 19, 2014 just cosmetic added cover to hide second air filter (pics below) and small update regarding additional engine venting - works wonderful. no oil sweating. I say it should be done on 4age when pumping over 1bar - stock venting seems not enough then. Quote
Sznaps Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) aand some fancy looking photo made by somebody on japfest. much better looking than what I do :-) Edited January 16, 2015 by Sznaps Quote
