dan05k Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 hi all! I'm new to this site but looks very informative and well set out. i was wondering if anyone has experience in fitting a 4age20v into a ke20 rolla. i am currently building this car for under 1600cc improved production hilclimbs, so street legality is no barrier. i have seen this conversion done before, and i am very familliar with the 4age varients as i am actually a toyota technician. i have all the engine mounts and gearbox from a AE71 rolla, and have aceess to a engine and gerabox crossmember if needed also. any help would be much appreciated, Quote
Teddy Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 G'day Mate. if you go to the old Toymods forum, there was a yellow ke20 with a 4age in it, which eventually ended up for sale ~ have a look up on there. Fook from here (demuire) has a ke35? with a 4age in it. Also, what toyota do you work for ? Ted Quote
rolla_4 Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 First of all good luck with the conversion! :D I'm not the one to be talking too but some other information might be usefull to others browsing this post! Are you lookin to retain a factory ecu or go aftermarket? Silvertop or Black? Class restrictions... ect? I'm also just curious! :D I like the idea! Quote
dan05k Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Posted March 16, 2006 thanks for that teddy, i work for southern hightlands toyota in moss vale, nsw. I'm thinking i will probably use a silver top 20v with the factory ecu. should have plenty of power for my class. rules say you must stay under 1600cc calculated capacity, so if its got any form of forced induction, your engine capacity is times by 1.5 (i think). so a turboed 4age or a 4agze is out of the question. for improved production class you can use any engine built by the same manufacturer as the body. So in my case, any toyota engine. so the 4age seems the most logical answer to me. Quote
