First rolla 101 Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 I've just put my manual pedal box in my ke30 and put my clutch booster in which was purchased from KE Conversions. The braided line that goes from the booster to the part (sorry not sure what its called)that bolts to the transmission seems backwards. I'm not sure what connects that part to the lever on the transmission. Any help would be great, cheers ash Quote
rian Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) The part that bolts to the transmission is called the slave cylinder. Are you using a T50 gearbox? There should be a little pushrod (part 31473 in the image below) that connects the slave cylinder and the clutch fork. Edited September 16, 2013 by rian Quote
First rolla 101 Posted September 16, 2013 Author Report Posted September 16, 2013 Sorry can't view that image. But yeah its a t50 box but I have no rod. The side that has the rubber is facing the engine. I can't work out how to post a photo Quote
rian Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) Which T50 are you using, is it a T-series T50 or an A-series T50? T-series T50s have the slave cylinder on the drivers side of the gearbox, and most (excluding JDM) A-series T50s have the slave cylinder on the passenger side. Maybe you have the wrong slave cylinder for your gearbox? Also you should be able to get that rod from Toyota, or you can just go to the wreckers and pull it from and Corolla newer than 1985. Edit: here is a link to that image http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_1984_TOYOTA_COROLLA_AE71R-EEMNCQ_3105.html Edited September 16, 2013 by rian Quote
First rolla 101 Posted September 16, 2013 Author Report Posted September 16, 2013 It's a T series and does the slave cylinder push forward and pull the arm toward the front of the car? If so maybe I just need the rod? Quote
First rolla 101 Posted September 16, 2013 Author Report Posted September 16, 2013 Just seen link, I def don't have that rod and you may be right about it being on the wrong side seeing as the rod is straight, that sucks coz the kit wasn't cheap and the RH engine mount that came with the kit was wrong too Quote
rian Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 The slave cylinder pushes the clutch fork towards the rear of the car. If the rubber part (where the pushrod goes) of your slave cylinder is facing the front of the car then you have the wrong slave cylinder, you probably need a slave cylinder for a TA22 Celica/T18 or something like that. First rolla 101 Posted September 16, 2013 Author Report Posted September 16, 2013 Ok thanks, I might even try flipping it upside down Quote
altezzaclub Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 It'll work upside down OK, but you will have to bleed it the right way up to start with. Quote
First rolla 101 Posted September 17, 2013 Author Report Posted September 17, 2013 Ok cheers I'll give it a go Quote
