ancullen Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Damn, I had a bad feeling you might not know. Oh well. I have seen a Mazda6 getting around with the nice dark metallic blue they use (not the light metallic blue from the Mazda3). I might end up using that - one day. Quote
NoPsi Posted September 19, 2006 Author Report Posted September 19, 2006 (edited) Goddamn glutton for punishment. Pulled the interior out to get at the heater box so i could change it. Ended up adding some artistic touches to the dash, laying sound deadning, deciding to spring for new carpet, respraying the headling black and fixing the dash pad. Rolla__Boy Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 haha, once it begins......... Dash looks REALLY nice mate ;) Keep us updated :P Quote
rolla20 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 looking good buddy, this is why i don't touch to many cars, as it just ends up the whole thing . :D adam Quote
NoPsi Posted September 23, 2006 Author Report Posted September 23, 2006 Motor and box is out. New motor has head the head ported even more. I'll get some photos up when I get it back. Bottom end is all sweet so I am just doing rings and bearings to make sure I get a few years out of it. Here's a photo of some random bogans that showed up at my place today while I was attempting to work. Now wonder I never get any work done. :P Nah really thanks for your help getting the motor out the back guys. Also a photo to prove that I actually do work on it. Please note the Japanese Safety Thongs. A must have item in Garage Dodgy. Quote
NoPsi Posted October 23, 2006 Author Report Posted October 23, 2006 All back together. Brakes are crap and spongy. Despite many bleeds I am still yet to figure out why. I think I shall have to change the rear wheel cylinders. Doh. Engine is finally running after sorting out why it had to run 30 degrees advance in the timing. Turns out the the cam was one tooth out. Now it starts first time runs average under 3500rpm then screams out to 8000rpm. Jamie and I have been chatting and we are beginning to think it is the 32/36 weber that causes the issues down low. NoPsi Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 Pretty much sorted. A couple of 70km round trips to work sorted out the engine issues. As for the brakes, replced the wheel cylinders at the back and also adjusted the wheel bearings at the front. That helped massively. All good. I might even have it rwc by the end of the week. Quote
NoPsi Posted November 5, 2006 Author Report Posted November 5, 2006 Here it is as it sits now. A little bit neater and not quite as wild. Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Looks sweet as mate. I reckon you should get some of the later ke20 headlight corner pieces, it would match the late grill. anyway keep up the good work. :jamie: Quote
Dan Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Only thing that I could possibly think of, to make the car look better, are black wheels.. thats the only thing though! Tops car mate, we'll just keep them famous last words to ourselves eh... not going to touch this one ;) Quote

LOVE the pattern on the bonnet and dash too. Quote
Jono Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 looks cool but it might be easier to get an early model grill instead otherwise you should get a late model bonnet to match the lines. Quote
NoPsi Posted November 7, 2006 Author Report Posted November 7, 2006 Cheers guys. I have a couple of spare grills. This one just fits the best. I also have the corner things without indicators in them. Black wheels have been done to death so I went with white. It really needs some chrome baby moon caps to finish the wheels. Quote
