matomil Posted September 1, 2013 Report Posted September 1, 2013 Hi, I am looking for information about how many HP can the K50 gear box manage? If anyone can help me with this information it will be great! Thanks. Matias. PS: I am working on a Turbo 4K engine for my KE70. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 I honestly believe its not so much a matter of a power limit the gearbox can handle but the way in which the gearbox is treated. If you go dumping or kicking the clutch or smashing it from gear to gear you're more likely to do more damage than just a general increase in power. You can even get off the line rather quickly with a bit of know how while still being kind to the box, ie slipping the clutch a bit which pre loads the drive train and also helps build boost. Tbh I've wrecked more k40's by running welded diffs than with any of my k turbo setups. 1 Quote
coln72 Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 What Taz said. Abuse it and it will break. Know people who killed a 9" diff yet know of an Opel 4 speed (one for the oldies) that outlasted 3 worked 202's Quote
