mlaser Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Morning All /RANT ON MY CAR IS DEAD, Just moved into my new unit yesterday and was down at the shops, got a phone call saying my fridge is being delivered so i figured i should get my ass back to my unit. Silly me forgot the little short cut i had figured out and ended up coming down a road i didn't need to. Travelling at a comfortable 50kph on 2nd Street in Gawler an old lady decided GIVE WAY signs are for chumps and pulled out of 6th St in front of me which led to me T-BONING her and writing off my car. So now my neck is in agony as i've no doubt got some whiplash as the standard seat belts in a 1973 car are some what lacking in tightness and to top it all off I HAVE NO DAMN CAR ANYMORE, and sweet f#@k all money to buy another one. So if anyone in Adelaide has a really cheap registerable car for sale please feel free to let me know as for the time being i'm stuck in gawler twiddling my thumbs. /RANT OFF Cheers Quote
Raven Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 That's not cool. I hope she was insured....and i hope you're ok. Claim on that neck injury for sure. If i come across a car, I'll let you know. Quote
Valandor Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 yeah. id rekommend that you check www.tradingpost.com.au quITE often there is cheap cars in there. i would also suggest that Youkeep a record of any days off work you and how often you take pain killers because of Neck pain and so forth. my mother in law had a head on clollision at 60 aboUT A year ago where the other person was on druGS in a stoLEN car without a license and keeping a diarY Like that meant it was easier to get compo Quote

mlaser Posted March 10, 2006 Author Report Posted March 10, 2006 I'm pretty sure that car isnt running dude.... cheers for the pm it's sooo annoying, i got taken off in the ambo and didnt get a chance to get her contact details, just got her name and address from the coppers so hopefully i can get a lift off one of the blokes from work and hunt her down and hopefully she is insured. Would be nice to get another rolla, keep up the rollaclub tradition of no substitute for a toyota now just gotta find a dr to get more pain killers, as i can barely move my neck. Not takin any time off work, i'm on light duties for the next couple o weeks so better off going to work than sitting at home with nothing to do. cheers fellas Quote
Raven Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 As if he'd wanna post pics of his wrecked car.... Quote
Fayt Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 this is a bad couple of months for rollaclub corollas, the old lady shouldn't be driving if she can't even bother to abide by a simple law as to give way, I hope your neck just got a bit of a bad jolt and will come right soon, and I hope u get a temporary car it sucks to hear things like this Quote
Trent-KE30 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 As if ya wouldn't Ke70 pussywagon did :P Quote
Corolla Test Pilot Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Hey every one, welcome me back. Send me beer or something. Sorry to hear bout all that, mlaser. Wrecking your car can be pretty destroying, but when it was some other bastards fault, thats disastrous. Hunt them down and sue their ass off. Quote
mlaser Posted March 13, 2006 Author Report Posted March 13, 2006 i'd happily post pics but i don't own a digi cam, i might be able to take some with my video camera but i think my data cable is farked. I'm gonna get her towed back to my place as i don't wanna pay storage in the mean time. I spoke to AAMI who is the insurer of the other driver and they said i won't get re-imbersed (spelling?) for the storage but they said they will pay for the tow from the acco, and the tow to my place but then they said i have to get it towed to an authorised AAMI repairer which i don't like the idea of, as i don't want them to look at the rust and try and fark me in the arse. I did some reading and saw that insurers won't pay out a claim if the car is unroadworthy and it contributed to the accident so i can't see how some rust caused the acco but i still get nervous around insurers as they will shaft you at any chance possible. I'm upset she's gone but oh well, it was fun while it lasted btw if you havent noticed i always write semi long posts :D but yeah if anyone in or near gawler is bored and wants to come round and take some happy snaps of the dead machine they are more than welcome to PM me and ill give ya my mobile and you can check out my dead ke25. As if he'd wanna post pics of his wrecked car.... Quote
