TIMMMAAAAYYY Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Hi all........new to this forum and like what I see. I am restoring a 1974 KE35 Corolla Coupe with a 4K engine and 4 speed manual box. I still have a bit to do on it and I hope to get some tips and advice from here as I go. Anyone know where I can get new front seat belts for my pillarless coupe? Quote
demuire Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 New seatbelts you'd be scatching around for awhile. Maybe Toyota. I haven't been able to find a set of aftermarket ones that have the extra length on the top... However, the blue coupe I mentioned in the email has a pretty good set of seatbelts in it... Quote

demuire Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 Xany: if you make your own - I take it your belts aren't ADR complianced anymore? Quote
TIMMMAAAAYYY Posted April 11, 2004 Author Report Posted April 11, 2004 Thanks for the welcome guys. Demuire put me onto this site (many thanks). I will try and take some pics to post here......never done it before, so no promises. The belts I have atm are pretty good.......just the drivers belt as a small ammount of fraying. Not sure if it would get by a roadworthy. the fraying does not go into the outer edge of the material....it just looks a little furry on the edge for about 4 inches. I am getting the bonnet and boot sand blasted today, so will be busy painting later this arvo. The colour of my coupe is a silver/blue. The closest match I could get is called Glacier Blue (chrysler/mitsubishi). I have painted the engine bay and valance in this coulour and am very pleased with it. This is my first attempt at restoring a car so I am far from an expert.....just very enthusiastic (my missus says obsessed). so to me...any improvement on the look of my coupe is better than what I started with. It was a neglected car that the owner had dubbed "the ugly car". Quote
Xany Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 demuire: nope......prolly not.....however you can't tell the difference between them.....and they would be much stronger than the other stuff.... Quote
Nitephyre Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 fraying is easy to fix with a decent set of sharp scissors. not that i know. of course. :D Quote
