altezzaclub Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 i think ill find a huge glassplate Just get an oblong of half inch thick flat steel about 200 by 150. I use it for cleaning up a lot of car parts when I want a surface sanded flat. Quote
SM Hunter Posted October 10, 2016 Author Report Posted October 10, 2016 (edited) Car is back up and running but it needs a new gearbox, had some more fotage but no computer yet so its kinda hard to edit haha did some gravel testing aswell, ended in a cracked oil pan... and i need a new gearbox :) Edited October 10, 2016 by SM Hunter Quote
altezzaclub Posted October 10, 2016 Report Posted October 10, 2016 Haha! Well gosh, I wonder why you need a new gearbox! It must fly now! Quote
SM Hunter Posted October 10, 2016 Author Report Posted October 10, 2016 (edited) Haha, the gearbox was worn out when i got it, i think the main bearing is gone, sounds like a stright cut racing box tho :D finally got to edit it, same 2 clips in the start but 2 extra ones, and the short gravel clip where i cracked my oilpan, i need to raise the car back up again, 5cm from the oilpan to the ground is not enough when driving on gravel... new project, less expencive and frustrating haha only half finished :) Edited October 10, 2016 by SM Hunter Quote
SM Hunter Posted October 13, 2016 Author Report Posted October 13, 2016 opps i pulled the motor, I'm going to swap inn my new cams (266 9.5lift) and measured clearensees, all within specs apart form the rearest exhaust valve, thats 0.35mm and it should be 0.25mm +- 0.05mm, should i bother getting a new shim or is 0.05 so small i wont notice it? :) pulled the intake aswell and i have a ITB intake on its way, getting excited, hoping for a bit more hp, maybe 150-160 since its a smallport so it has good compression :) Quote
SM Hunter Posted October 24, 2016 Author Report Posted October 24, 2016 Finally got my good camera workign again! soo il just drop some pics :) gave the enignebay and engine a makeover :) Quote
SM Hunter Posted November 30, 2016 Author Report Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Itb manifold bolted on Woohoo Modified the tps sensor, swapped in my 266 dur 9.5 lift cams and just set the dizzy to where i belived it should be.. fired up! Need to get hold of a alloy rad for it, then i can push it out od the shed and adjust the ignition and find out the ideal vac setup, i don't have a brake booster so ill have a good vac for the MAP and FPR :) So I'm trying to run it on itbs with stock ecu.. I neee more steering lock Iv got t3 steering arms with really short distance between strut and tie rod so i have quick steering... But the outer tie rod touches the lca so i need to do something, the tire also tuches the framrail så i have to extand the lcas Ill add 30mm Had some good stuff laying arround Notch for the tie rod Ended up working really good, could use a bit more of extending but then i wouød have my wheels ouside of the fenders, so I'm thinking lower profile tires to clear the framerail and get a few more degrees 🤔 Edited November 30, 2016 by SM Hunter Quote
altezzaclub Posted December 1, 2016 Report Posted December 1, 2016 If you need that much sideways I reckon you're so deep in the shit you're not getting out! It will lose the self-centering at that angle won't it?? Might not want to come back straight with weight on it. It will lock up if the inner steering arm goes past 180deg, you will be pushing the steering arm into the LCA notch instead of pushing it away from it. The drag on the wheel at that angle will jam the steering arm into the notch too. Should be educational anyway! Quote
SM Hunter Posted December 1, 2016 Author Report Posted December 1, 2016 hopefully using the car this winter for ice lake driving/drifting where i could use the extra degrees :) and i'll try go to a little sideways on track nrext year, atleast i hope, its not for gravel anymore since its too low for the standard gravel roads here :( i know about the inner steering arm lining up with the balljoint and locking, i'm hoing i can avoid if if not ill try to play with the caster to remove it or just back off a few degrees, orrr just get a rack from a KE70 or something instead :) i can't just sit here and be afraid of problems that might occur, ill just have to try and see if they actually do :) i,v got a set of stock LCA's if i'v made it undrivable :) video of the first start, need to time the igintion..
