SM Hunter Posted August 16, 2015 Author Report Posted August 16, 2015 ill be getting new rings and new rod bearings and maybe new valve stem seals ill look into it.. ended up having a rod through the wall of my 3k again... this thime it knocked the starter away and snapped both bolts holding it... now idea how this happend, filled oil the day before and i have NEVER touched the rodbolts/rods/crank... ? started knocking and i knew what it was and was not in the mood to fix up a little 3k engine when i have a 2tg i need to fix so i just drove it home, well almost drove almost 10km with a SERIUS knock then 100m away from my house the rear wheels locked up.. I'm fed up with K series now..! anyways drove 500kms with a couple of friends to get this beauty! 2tc from a ta40.. same block as the 2tg so bolts up to the t50 gearbox= 5 gears and 1.6! a bit ugly but I'm hoping a round with the seamer will fix that, i got quad carbs laying arround for this head.. dunno if ill mount them on or not :) Quote
SM Hunter Posted August 17, 2015 Author Report Posted August 17, 2015 (edited) washed :) 2T-G and 2T-C gearbox mounted in the car still lots to do had to use the 2T-G exhaust due to the 2T-C hitting the pitman arm, 2T-G is ALOT more compact! i also got a gasket set at my local toyota dealer, they are begining to know me so i got 25% off! SM Hunter Posted August 19, 2015 Author Report Posted August 19, 2015 got it started, had to adjust the igintion breaker and change the oil, and trans oil, some fresh fuel and it fired right up :) started welding up the exhaust, this is 2" then the rest is 2,5" and a see through silencer in the rear tacked up need attach the gear lever, some wires and some hoses then its good to go Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 So does this count as the mark3 version, or the mark4 one?? "The 3K Rallyrolla", the 2TG Rallyrolla"... "the 3T-C Rallyrolla" Â At least now you know every nut and bolt on the car! Quote
Feral4K Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 This guy deserves a motorvation award!, still looking for where he keeps his bed and brekky table cause he must live out in that garage... Quote

sunday its a whole diffrent story... :bash: luckly i had a friend nearby with a tracktor so we managed to get it up before the cops/ other poeple saw it Edited August 31, 2015 by SM Hunter Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 31, 2015 Report Posted August 31, 2015 Ah, education is expensive! Â Doesn't look too bad? Quote
SM Hunter Posted August 31, 2015 Author Report Posted August 31, 2015 its not, "just a bent front plate and the bar under the radiator. i hit a BIG rock... ill post some pics later today of the car... i was lucky, missed all the trees! Quote
Mechanical Sympathy Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Wow that would've been scary. Thank goodness you missed all the trees. Quote
altezzaclub Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 I don't see any big rocks in the photos.. were you one the road when you hit it?? ..or was it a wombat that then walked away?? :laff: Â That seems to be the favourite excuse in Australia, wombats or kangaroos! Quote
SM Hunter Posted September 7, 2015 Author Report Posted September 7, 2015 here it is, its not gigantic, but its huge enough when you hit it in like 70km/h an move it almost 2 meters with the front of a Ke20.. my keys on top of it front end.. anyways, took the car to Rudskogen the day before Gatebil---> Toyota Trackday. almost hang in there with the GT86's ( the one with crappy tires and gutless drivers)... you could say me and my friend when all in, inner front tire lifting, downshifting in to get it sliding into the turns etc... the Track staff was laughing and clapping their hands when we drove so i call it a win! it was a fun experience and will be repeated, with a camera! we both when out of power on our phones pretty quick out pit.. here is me talking to a fellow KE owner, he had a KE30 with a 2T-B and T50... Â anyways my mate managed to get a crappy film the first lap, did not know the track and was taking it easy when it decides to get tail happy in 3.gear... the track is sooo slippy in the wet! was fun but it it quickly dried up. Gotta have a warm up lap with Miami vice theme- Jan Hammer! Quote
altezzaclub Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Ouch!! Â So just cut that cross-member right out and replace it with a box section, not too hard. Although it will end up as motor out, radiator panel cut off, crossmember off, suspension off and then chassis arms pushed outwards that little bit that they have been pulled in. Â Still, when you look at the rally crash videos..... Quote
styler Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 Lucky the trees didn't get you! Those lower radiator support sections are also avaliable on ebay as 2 pieces to weld together and then back onto the rails. Quote
SM Hunter Posted September 11, 2015 Author Report Posted September 11, 2015 ahh thanks found the one on ebay but ill se if i can take it out of the parts car :) anyways cleaned out the barn and gatherd all the shit i had laying arround at one olace, here are some of the engines.. Quote
