i need some help

 

i have some ssr reverse mesh

15x7 +26

 

 

what i need to know:

 

are they a 2 or 3 piece wheel? can't find a clear answer.

 

and also i need to increase the offset to something more negative, as they hit my struts (brought 8mm spacers and still no joy)

is it safe fixing the inners like in this picture?

2 piece is when the centre comes out of the rim.

 

3 piece is when the centre comes out and the rim separates.

I have tryes on but I took the centre out today and it looks as if it have 3 pieces but I thought they were 2 piece

You could try flipping the centres to get less offset, although you should measure it all up first to make sure the wheel will be usable with the 'flipped' offset.

You will find the best three piece wheels have the inner and outer barrels welded together.

Would these be welded?

Because where the two barrels meet and the centre bolts on you can see a seem around the band?

And you can see the top half is differnet to the bottom half.

I've actually never seen a 3 piece wheel that hasn't been welded? It would be pretty to stop it leaking otherwise.

 

Your either gunna have to get bigger spacers or flip them.

Ive seen a few sets that were widened by morons that were not welded, just to save money and cause they didnt know what they were supposed to do. Ive seen some old sets of three piece racing rims, compomotoves I think, they were able to be pulled down and bolted together with wider outers for different applications. They were never welded to allow this. Some without welds have silicon or gaskets of some description to seal them.
