Hey everyone,

Just picked up a small car from a mate that my partner and I have wanted for years!

Its a 1976 XC Ford Falcon (fairmont) Wagon.

All Original engine, box, diff, body Etc. Except the exterior changes like mirrors, bonnet and wheels. Optioned roof rack. Matching numbers and build spec to plates.

176 000km On the Vehicle.

351 Cleveland 2V V8, Converted to Electronic distributor, 600CFM Holley Vac secondary carb with a few tuning updates. Edelbrock dual plane performer manifold with 1" spacer.

Mild street cam, Unsure of specs but way better all round and a small shake at idle. Old chrome rocker covers, air cleaner and sump. Upgraded mechanical fuel pump. Deleted A/C.

Re-built single rail 4 speed gearbox, 8 and 3/4? Diff. LSD. HD Clutch.

Lowered all round, 12 Slot Chrome plated wheels, Re productions fitted, original ones stored.

XD Front seats? and original vinyl rears. Original vinyl fronts stored. I think its a GS dash or Up spec from something of that period.

2 x 6" Speakers in the front, 4 x 6x9's in the boot using custom panels not the originals. Eclipse head unit.

4 wheel disc brakes. Full exhaust system, Pacemaker headers and full twin pipes, 2'1/2"

Duel action tailgate that just rocks my world, Couldn't even explain it to modern engineers just wouldn't make sense! LOL

A little bit of rust starting to come up here and there and paint isn't excellent. But its old so its OK.

Its just sitting around at the moment awaiting attention for road worthy even though it got driven down to brisbane from Moura with no mishaps, on a day permit. 650Km. First proper drive in 3 or more years.

We have a few plans for it but un-able to at this stage due to other commitments. Its just going to be a cruiser/ Weekend car at this stage.

It may cop a swap motor with a 393 Stroker, Better brakes and suspension, clean up of interior and chrome work as well as a re spray in the future but thats a fair way off at this point.

A few Pictures for the interested parties!

I approve of said 393!!!

real good mate has a 408ci in his XC window less panel van. CHI 3v head are well worth the money. His makes a nice 500 and 500 with a baby(ish) solid cam.

Nice pick up, good condition early falcons are getting harder to find.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm really not keen on a solid lifter cam, Had one before on a previous car and adjusting its valves on a V8 isn't fun every 500-100Km! :bash:

Heard plenty of good thing about the CHI 3V's seem like a really good product.

Keen as for more mods, just not at this stage. Hope to just have a lazy 380-400Hp to cruise with....... :rolls:
