RAT AS Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 as the title states ''whats a rusted 86 shell worth''? it has rusted (rear window) (front window) and the 3/4 windows in the back. the doors are also rusted (in the bottoms) it would all be repairable with a little know how. I don't want to scrap it, (we all know why) NOTE: its a bare shell +doors. NOT ROLLING Quote
Daizy70 Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Properly $500 but it's hard to tell with no pictures, how much do you expect it to be worth Quote
LukeAE71 Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Welcome to this weeks "how much is a car I want to buy going to be worth to resell" thread. Quote
mark1414 Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Almost nothing. By the time you fix it and get all the parts to make it a complete car you would have been able to buy a better one with money left over. Would hate to try and buy parts for an ae86 because according to all sellers every stock part is made of gold. Quote
parrot Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 I'll give you $200 And that would be about right Quote
RAT AS Posted July 7, 2013 Author Report Posted July 7, 2013 yeah I don't expect it to be worth a lot. was just wondering on peoples thoughts.. as I said I wouldn't be using it and if someone can fix it up it, some one could have a shell Quote
rian Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 I'll give you $200 This is actually a good offer, you should seriously take him up on it. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 It has no monetary value aside from scrap metal value, but it is a nice idea to give it to whoever can fix it. Quote
Trev Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 This might be a good spares car for our racecar, I shall let the boss know. Quote
benhachi Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 A bare shell with no rust not rolling would be worth 900-1000 now work out how much the rust repairs would cost to get fixed and take that away from that figure. If I was in the market for one these are the things I would be thinking. It's probably worth it's weight in scrap depending if there's good panels or not. Quote
carbonboy Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 A bare shell with no rust not rolling would be worth 900-1000 At $0.14 a kilogram, I didn't think AE86 shells were that heavy. Quote
ke70dave Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Ufortunately its only worth what someone is willing to pay, and you have to be pretty damn keen to buy a rusted shell. unless it has a very specific repair section that you want. at which case I'm more likely to come to your house with an angle grinder, than buy the entire shell! How do you even move a non rolling shell? Quote
parrot Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 They are surprisingly light. A few blokes would have no trouble lifting it onto a trailer. Quote
