Mosus Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Hey guys/gals quick qeustion, I had a KE70 sedan come into work on friday for a RWC, was a clean little car and sounded nice. When i lifted the bonnet it had two downdraft carbies on a standard toyota dondraft inlet maniflod with what looked like two asain versions of a 32/36 webber, all bolted on to a 4-KC. Know i got talking to the guy and he said he bought the car as is, and was chasing a single webber 32/36 with manifold, linkage kit, air filter e.t.c, know i told him i had all that and he was talking bout s swap, has anybody heard of these carbies and manifold all genuie toyota stuff, would the swap be worth it? let me know what you think cheers guys. Raven Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Yep its an old school Corolla Sprinter manifold. Comes with the 3K-B engines if i recall correctly. Pretty sure KE15 Sprinters had 'em. Felix would know a bit more about them i'd say. Quote
Mosus Posted March 5, 2006 Author Report Posted March 5, 2006 Are the carbs anygood and worth the swap??? Quote
Teddy Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Mosus.. are you a mechanic ? He wants to swap from a twin asian downdraft setup to a single 32 weber setup? thats a big cross in my book. Read up somewhere on that faq, about asian carb's. In simple terms, whats going to blow/flow more? 1 weber, or 2 asian's ? *ha ha ha* Seriously though.. Get the asian carb's rebuilt, tuned, and modify them to suit the motor if necessary. Quote
Raven Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 (edited) Yup, what teddy said. A guy that was selling parts on here when i had my KE55 had a twin aisan carb manifold with carbs. I think he wanted something like $250 for it. I don't know if thats a good price or not though and that was about 9 months ago. Edited March 5, 2006 by AE35 Quote
Mosus Posted March 5, 2006 Author Report Posted March 5, 2006 Yea I'm a 1st year turning second in april, carburettors etc i'm still learing about everything i see today is all efi, i was thinking for a srtaight swap i've got three downdraft webbers at home and two manifolds, so i thought i can't really lose i just didn''t know if it's be a waste of time becuase i didn't know anything about these twin downdrafts e.t.c just looking for some advice and a point in the wright direction Quote
Tiger Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 You have 3 webers now, and you'll end up with 2 asains and 2 webers TOO MANY CARBS IS BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH! Quote
Teddy Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Which path do you want to take.. Power or economy? Choose accordingly. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 that's a good deal, i'd have a pair asian's over a webber anyday. but it'd also have a pair of side draught dellortos over the down draughts. still a good swap, you can buy webbers anywhere, but twin asian's are getting hard to find. Quote
ScottKE1X Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Do it! In my opinion thats a good deal. Id do it, and i don't have pile of weber like you do... Quote
