What Does Cash Your Plates In Mean?

does that mean u get money for them or something if there original I don't get it some one please explain

i think if you got the original ones and they arent being used (ie you havent got personalised of the same number and stuff) they may give you some money back so they can put that number plate back into curcilation.

if you have original plates, ie. OLD plates or unique plates, you can sell them and transfer ownership to the buyer.

oh so some one is doing like a old project car and they want some old plate of its time to make it more original or something is that right or I'm i on an different planet

In QLD you are allowed to sell the plates if you wish - lots of people seem to buy unique names then resell them for a fortune - yesterday at the Motorshow the PPQ stand had a large display of plates for sale - some as much as $50,000!!

 

But generally cashing in your plates is getting back the few months rego owed on the plates - if you don't have the car you don't need to pay the rego/road taxes etc - so handing in the plates is like a receipt fo rthe rego - you get back the pro-rata amount
