Kickers Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 Hey guys. I'm hearing abit about these xt130 control arms that put camber into your front wheels. Is that just for the ke70's or does it work on a ke30 aswell? Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 ke30 lcas are the same length and design as xt130 I think. They are common to most Toyota of this vintage with a steering box, ke30, ra40, xt130, etc all share the same length of lca. Quote
Kickers Posted May 26, 2013 Author Report Posted May 26, 2013 Okay thanks. Is there any control arms that would give the ke30 some camber? Quote
silverra23 Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Some blokes use Sigma lower control arms. Some allege there is work to be done to sort out ball joint compatibility. Some bolt them straight in despite differing tapers or something. Quote
Kickers Posted May 27, 2013 Author Report Posted May 27, 2013 Ill need a mod plate for that won't I? I'm only on my Ps and I don't think I can drive a car with mod plate in qld? Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Well you shouldn't be modifying anything mate. Quote
Kickers Posted May 27, 2013 Author Report Posted May 27, 2013 Oh okay. What about changing it to a manual? I should be able to do that since it comes out with a manual Quote
ke70dave Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 You poor P platers get such a raw deal with mod plates! What do you want camber for anyway? looks? or you trying to tune the suspension/tyres ? if so what else have you done with the suspension? Quote
Kickers Posted May 28, 2013 Author Report Posted May 28, 2013 Nah more just looks. But more worried about the auto to manual conversion. Quote
Evan G Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 sigma arms + xt130 struts = 1.5 neg camber. + camber tops = 3.5 Quote
towe001 Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 Nah more just looks. But more worried about the auto to manual conversion. In the '55 you'll have to make a gearbox x-member. To make the swap go a little easier is use the g'box from a ke70 AND make sure you also grab its x-member. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/19141-trouble-with-ke55-manual-conversion/ Have a search, there should be a few more on the ke55 auto to manual problems and difficulties. sigma arms + xt130 struts = 1.5 neg camber. + camber tops = 3.5 Need to use the ke70 struts with the camber tops. Do they fit straight in? Urm, sigma arms - no ke70 struts - yes. Pull out the old ke55 struts and slide in the ke70 struts Quote
Kickers Posted May 28, 2013 Author Report Posted May 28, 2013 Oh okay so does the 5 speed ke70 gearbox just bolt straight up or...? 1 Quote
