Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Report Posted August 14, 2014 Finally made a start on my lower control arms today Quote
supra2 Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 Did you bend those up or is it extrusion that you can buy off the shelf? Looks a lot neater and quicker than cutting and shutting a standard lca. Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Report Posted August 14, 2014 Pressed up some 3mm mild plate, yeh look a lot neater I think Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Report Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) Well I bought another 30 today, this is replacing my ke70 build as it already has a built 2tg, t50 and celica diff, I seem to have an obsession with these things haha Edited August 16, 2014 by Tough_little_ke20 Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 17, 2014 Author Report Posted August 17, 2014 Yeh it's pretty good, few little tidy up jobs but other than that good as gold Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Are you going to close the box on the bottom of the LCAs?? Â The Celcia's were open "C" section and I was surprised how smashed up they got. We didn't close them right up afterwards, just the middle section. Same on the g'box crossmember after that was bent to hell. Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 17, 2014 Author Report Posted August 17, 2014 Yes I am going to put 2mm sheet on the bottom, no real reason for it I just feel like doing it, considering this is a dedicated track car if I smash them I should sell my cars and take up knitting because I can't drive for shit Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Lca's coming along, gotta make up some rose jointed radius rods then finish the arms Quote
glenpos Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 looking good mate, can't wait to see this thing done :P Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 20, 2014 Author Report Posted August 20, 2014 Thanks mate, me either Quote
snot35 Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Yeah I like what you're doing with the LCA's. So what is the ball joint you're using, and it looks like you need to put your own taper on it or something?? Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Report Posted August 21, 2014 They are standard series 5 rx7 lower ball joints, no taper or thread, it slides into a hole in the hub and a bolt locks it in buy sitting in the groove similar to a pto coupling on a tractor Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted September 11, 2014 Author Report Posted September 11, 2014 Radius rods and lca's are almost finish, might finally get this thing rolling on all 4 Quote
