Tough_little_ke20 Posted June 25, 2014 Author Report Posted June 25, 2014 Yeh sounds good thanks, What's a trutrac worth? Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted June 25, 2014 Author Report Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) And is there much availability of aftermarket LSD's? Edited June 25, 2014 by Tough_little_ke20 Quote
Jono.C Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Tru-trac's are around the $1200 mark. I paid 150 cause the guy assumed it was a factory lsd diff haha  Not sure what others are around but there's guys in america running a few different things Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted July 26, 2014 Author Report Posted July 26, 2014 Got some spares today, I never thought I would ever take to a corolla with a grinder Quote
corollaart Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 This is a great build to watch and some great skills.  The rear end is vs commmodore ?in the first post ,but it 4 stud axles??  Love the skinned car in last post are you going to wall art him ha ha  rob Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Report Posted July 27, 2014 Originally I was going to do a 4 link with a vs diff and front struts then HSV brakes but as you will see in the earlier posts I changed my mind and went with an RA65 celica IRS set up and coil overs with series 5 RX7 front hubs and brakes all around, these are all spare panels for the car that I hope to never use, I might store them on the wall when I get my own shed haha Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Report Posted July 27, 2014 Purchasing this donor ke30 means I've made more changes to my plan, and for the better I think, because I didn't get a dash with the car I was going to run a bare fire wall with a custom made dash over a custom steering column and a tilton style pedal box on the floor. Now I have a dash, I think it will look much neater, I will have the dash restored in either black vinyl or black suede with red stitching and retain the factory steering column and pedal box then modifiy the pedal box for brake bias. Also got some stainless wiper arms off the donor which are a bit nicer than what I already had plus the wiper motor that I was missing. Now I'm on the hunt for the chrome trim that goes on the gutter as there was none on the donor car. Off to the Phillip Island 6 hour this weekend in the 20 then I'll get back into the 30, I have some new rx7 lower ball joints and I have parts pressed up for the lower control arms, need to do some cutting, drilling, machining and welding then onto some radius rods Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted July 30, 2014 Author Report Posted July 30, 2014 Had to make some space for all the new spares so I put them where the bonnet and quarters were which ment they then needed a new home, soooo........ I couldn't help myself, I just love the 30/55 shape Quote
orlando3tc Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 Which bell housing you using on this built to suit the w-58.? Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 7, 2014 Author Report Posted August 7, 2014 It's a 2s bell housing, and apparently a 2s sump to fit the cross member better, direct bolt up to the w57 Quote
Jono.C Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 Would be from an sa63 celica not corona as well btw Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 8, 2014 Author Report Posted August 8, 2014 Really? What's the difference? I never looked into it too much and I found this whole setup ready to go Quote
Jono.C Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 Corona has a Borgwarner box not the toyota W55/7/8, Celica has 2s but w55 gearbox, But sumps are same between Corona and Celica Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 8, 2014 Author Report Posted August 8, 2014 Ah ok well this is a supra w57 Quote
