Tough_little_ke20 Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 My latest project, ke30 powered by a 3sgte with a 5speed supra box, vs commodore diff and vs front struts with coil overs all around, full cage, fuel cell and a full paint job Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted May 24, 2013 Author Report Posted May 24, 2013 Late December last year I found this siting on a container while I was getting the engine bay blasted in my ke20 a couple of months later I went back a took it home for $350. The body is fantastic considering its age one small dint in the roof a dint in the door and a tiny bit of bog in the wheel arch. The third part to the fleet Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted May 25, 2013 Author Report Posted May 25, 2013 So am I, ill try my best to continue posting. The plan it for it to look like this first pic but with custom made front splitter. So far I have remove the tank and all the disgusting fuel, the entire loom and the fuel lines, will be going to Melbourne in the next couple of weeks to check out an engine, 2nd gen 3sgte with gen 3 ecu and loom rebuilt and converted to rwd with 5speed supra box, then I will get myself a tig and seam weld every little bit of the car Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted June 10, 2013 Author Report Posted June 10, 2013 Bought my engine yesterday, 2nd gen 3sgte rebuilt with low k's, gen 3 ecu and loom, loom has been modified to remove all the useless bits and keep it simple, custom flywheel, gear reduction starter motor, 2s sump and bell housing, supra 5 speed and a custom distributor relocation kit. All that for $3,200. Now to get a tig and mount it Quote

Tough_little_ke20 Posted June 11, 2013 Author Report Posted June 11, 2013 Thanks mate good to hear more people liking it rather than complaining about it being "poo brown", I'm expecting good things from this ke30 when it's done, you'll probably see it when it's done, maybe late next year Quote
glenpos Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 hey mate, no worries, yeah hopefully will see it, but later this year i'll be moving to the vic saloon car series, just racing in the sprints until i finish building my car. Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 8, 2013 Author Report Posted August 8, 2013 Got a ke70 steering rack last week for the car and yesterday the rear end turned up. I changed my mind on the 4 link commodore rear and got a complete independent rear from an ra65 celica. Now I can have a bit of rear stance haha. Thinking about mounting the motor this weekend and get onto seem welding the car over the next month and tackle the rear end. Should be fun Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 8, 2013 Author Report Posted August 8, 2013 Some photos of the rack and rear end, it's the perfect width Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 8, 2013 Author Report Posted August 8, 2013 Just finished building myself a new trailer 3 weeks ago too to haul the cars around on, I copied the tilta trailer idea but made everything bigger, 3 and 4mm box for the framing, Firestone airbags from a kenworth prime mover, twin cylinder compressor, 4000lb 4x4 remote controlled winch, full size super charge car battery, marine solar panel, remote control for up and down controls and a tire rack for only $2,789.31 including paint, rego, everything even the way bridge fee where it came in at 600kg Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Report Posted August 17, 2013 Did some seam welding on the front of the car last weekend but my tig skills aren't real flash so my brother is doing all the bay (all the visible welds). Today I cleaned the motor and gearbox, painted them and bolted them together, will mount the engine tomorrow Quote
