Hey guys first post here. I have used this forum for help before so I'm sure you guys will have the knowledge I'm after.

I was just wondering if anyone else has removed the plastic from around the rear window in a AE92 and how to do it. I know there is clips all the way along but I don't want to start smashing it with a screwdriver. Is there a particular way in which you unclip the plastic strip. Any help will be much appreciated

Cheers

What body style, Hatchback, Sedan or Seca?

If its hatch at the very corners under the trim are two white clips which tuck in under the tailgate glass.

Once they are prised from under the glass, the ends will pop off and from there you gently pursuade

the trim to come off, you could get away with a flatblade screwdriver or use a barbeque scraper as the

profile is wider so it dosent chip the edge of the trim in the process. Do this process from the top of this trim down

and lever it away from the glass to prevent damage to the paint.

I assume your tackling rust issues under your glass, you will be suprised with how much dirt accumilates under there.

Thanks for your reply mate just what I needed to know. It is for a hatch by the way and yehh wanted to have a good look at the rust under there. Contemplating whether to fix it or get another tailgate with minimal rust, if I can find one.

Keep the screwdriver away from the glass, one small chip on the edge and you'll have a crack that'll run for miles... don't ask how I know :bash:
