5K Oil Pressure Issues

Hi there Gavin just been looking at K Club in NZ and reading there 5k solid lifter conversion page it can be found at the bottom of our wiki page 5k solid lifter conversion it explains it all in good detail and confirms what we thought was happening well worth a look.

Makes sense, if your pumping all your oil to the hydro lifters that no longer exist, you'll get a pressure drop in the system.

That was spinning around in the back of my mind but having never done the conversion to solids I kept quiet.

Hi there everyone i just want to say thanks for all your thoughts/opinions and ideas as to our problem ! all going well we should have a answer by the weekend and share the results with you all; so as to help any other members doing this conversion and add it to the wiki page. There has not been to much mentioned about blocking the oil feed to the hydro lifters other than a small bit on K club in NZ. I would also like to once again say a BIG thank you to Stu (Kickn 5k) for all his help in helping to solve this problem and making the grub screw with a dowel on the end for us to block the oil feed (Thanks Heaps Mate). Which bring me to ! we have COTY (car of the year) award so how about MOTY (member of the year) award as i would nominate Stu straight up as it is members like Stu that make this the great sight it is. I have noticed ever since being on Rolla Club Stu has always given great advice to those in need of HELP like us so might be worth the MODS having a look at MOTY ??? what do you all think???.

Well it seems since mine is all stock and has no other reason for pressure loss...I will be changing oil pumps for my vacation. And I guess since I practically have to pull the engine to change it, I'm gonna pull the engine, that will be a good time to go ahead and pull the steering box so I can mess with it too...then, that will be a good time to pull the heater out and re-build it...and since all that will be out, looks like a good time to clean up and repaint the engine bay...and gee since most of the dash is apart, might as well re-paint in there too...and I ordered some baby moons that should be here in a few days...should look kinda old school 50ish hot rod with moons and rings...I'll show ya if it looks ok
