nerfbat Posted April 16, 2013 Author Report Posted April 16, 2013 pretty much how she sits, at the moment. waiting for my exhaust, gas tank cover and billet cap, ATR rear shock, and my lazy eye mod, to arrive from O/Seas wil then order a whole front end kit, consisting of matching alloy, disc brake set up, lower RRGS forks, and low profile tyre these are cheap as..! vary from $300-$500 for the kit(or dearer for the 'super fancy ones') thanks for your time Quote

flyinwall Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 does this mean i have to come over for a gander after work tomorrow Quote
nerfbat Posted April 17, 2013 Author Report Posted April 17, 2013 for sure mate..! FedEx tracking says my exhaust should be here tomorrow, so you can see her near complete be good to catch up anyway b4 you go. still got dibs on the couch mate :-) Quote
nerfbat Posted April 18, 2013 Author Report Posted April 18, 2013 (edited) exhaust arrived..! this one is about 1/3rd of the weight of the original one now to find a shock from Independant Motorcycle Wreckers, that will fit and be heavier than what was on it.. there are aftermarket ones for approx $200, but I'm sure i can find something locally and cheaper that will do the trick Edited April 18, 2013 by nerfbat Quote
nerfbat Posted April 20, 2013 Author Report Posted April 20, 2013 the 'carbon fibre' gas tank arrived. now i know why it was so cheap.. its tin with a carbon fibre wrap on it...lol but at least it looks ok fitted the exhaust, the cover, tidied up a few things. how it sits now the lazy eye mod still hasnt arrived.. and it was the first thing i ordered... things to do: tidy up wiring more fit a stronger side stand, maybe something off an 80's virago or similar i can't ride her though as its overheating.. was sure ive bled the system as per their suggestion.. oh well, back to the drawing board Quote
nerfbat Posted April 24, 2013 Author Report Posted April 24, 2013 "i can't ride her though as its overheating.. was sure ive bled the system as per their suggestion.. oh well, back to the drawing board" this has had me stumped for a fair while now.. it feels like it isnt overheating but during the initial diagnostic, during startup, all checks out ok. then the minute i put her under ie, take off with my fat arse on her, regardless of engine temp, the CEL comes on, indicating an overheating error.. having so much trouble finding manuals for these, as it is a japanese zoomer, and not the U.S. ruckus(plenty of info on them) and these are wired differently, different colours, locations for PCV, most sensors, etc. been a real headf#$k.. but i played it safe and tested the thermostat when cold - OK at 75 degrees - OK finally got onto a mate who i used to train with who is based in japan, who actually found a PDF of the Zoomer manual, in the U.S. in english for me....lol going by it, i tried the following, bled the cooling system, tested the coolant sensor's resistance(within tolerances), tested the coolant level sensor, and reset the ECU, ECT, and any other 3 letter acronym i could find... i was stumped..! still am TBH so i rang Toowoomba Honda this morning and got onto Andrew there(service guru, all round top bloke), who explained to me, something along the lines of: "ok, if it was fine before the mods, it has to be something you've done" "check all the wires, you may have stretched the harness when putting on the stretch kit, somewhere in the harness, a plug or wire may not be joining correctly." "one wire may be pinched and exposed somewhere, a plug in the harness might not be correctly making contact" he gave me a list of possible things to check. will be heading out after work, to strip her down and check every wire, plug, nut and bolt... at least if its something like that, it wont cost much fun times Quote
nerfbat Posted April 24, 2013 Author Report Posted April 24, 2013 only good thing is, my lazy eye arrived..! Quote
orangeLJ Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 Paint that exhaust! Looks unsightly with all the stickers on it :P Are you going to need some new bars now to make the seating position comfortable? or is it little enough that you don't have to lean forward too much now? Definitely changed since you first picked the thing up! quick build is an understatement! Quote
nerfbat Posted April 24, 2013 Author Report Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) Paint that exhaust! Looks unsightly with all the stickers on it :P agreed mate they are stickers and will be removed, as soon as i get it running right Are you going to need some new bars now to make the seating position comfortable? or is it little enough that you don't have to lean forward too much now? no idea mate. on long rides, i may feel a bit hunched over. will have to wait til i take her for a good ride(once its running right) and report back Definitely changed since you first picked the thing up! quick build is an understatement! thanks mate..! so impatient to be able to enjoy her...
