AsleepAtTheWheel Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 G'day guys, I've recently purchased a KE70 Corolla with a tidy 4AGZE in it (my first Toyota - I'll post up specs and pictures when I get some time) and I'm lovin every minute of driving it. :jamie: Was told when I purchased it that RollaClub was one of the best sources of information for these - so here I am. When I purchased it, the car has a diff that sounds similar to a Yellow cab - real noisy and stuff. I wasn't too concerned about it because I planned on doing a diff swap to a T-18 anyway. Problem is that after ringing just about every wrecker in Brisbane I can't seem to find one (all I'm getting is a straight out "No" - even got a "I haven't seen one in 20 yrs") so I guess I'm looking for alternatives. What other diffs will fit into the KE70 with minimal fuss and that are stronger than the one already there? Cheers P.S. I'm going to stick a wanted ad in the parts section as well. Quote
Teddy Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 First up, Welcome Mate. Wreckers for a starter are assholes, and don't know what they have. Take Kellys wreckers for example in carseldine -> i think i know the place better than the blokes that work there, because I'm there most weekends scavanging around for toyota parts. If you ask them, there usually don't know, don't care & too lazy to move off there ass and find out for sure. T18's are rare in brisbane, esp at wreckers. Ke70's are not rare, and every desent wrecker has a few of them. Ae71s are not as rare as T18's, but still no where near as popular as Ke70s. Ill Keep an eye out for ya, but just so you know, we have an FAQ here, which has bucket loads of info on anything old school toyota. Between you, me and the fence post, its not the largest link at the top of the page, and i don't think alot of new people know about it / realize that its there. Link = http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Main_Page . Also, Try searching the forums, theres alot of info on here, you just need to do a quick search, and within 10 minutes, you'll have 90% of info you need! Post up some pics of ure car, id love to see them :D Also, I own www.ke70.com - its kinda like a sister page for Rollaclub, but just on Ke70's. I'm slowly adding stuff to there.. its not a webpage, more like a.. data storage area :jamie: Enjoy - and welcome :P Quote
Biggo Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Any diff will fit if u got the time and skills. But yair if i fail to find a T18 diff I'm goin for an RA40/60 jobbie. Failing that have a bit of fun and weld the stocko one up........jk Quote
TRD ke70 Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Narangba wreckers have 3 T-18's up there and i think they still have diffs. Quote
