Redwarf Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 Back in the good ol days, two types of fuel were available, Standard and Super. Standard had a lower octane rating than super. This adjuster allowed you to back of or advance the timing easily depending upon which fuel was used. There was a big enough difference that my mother's Mk1 Cortina used to run like a pig ad back fre on Standard, but was fine on super. Quote
