Banjo Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Hi Guys, Rumours abound that Toyota may reintroduce the K Series Corolla. This is approx. 45 years after it was first introduced to the world. However, it is a very, very different Corolla, to the one we have all learnt to love. Unfortunately, none of the parts are interchangeable, so those of you who have got a shed full of bits & pieces; don't get too excited that you are in for a bonanza ! The other radical departure from the Corolla that we know, is that it has three, yes, three wheels. Now I know some of us have experienced three wheel travel in our Corollas, but that was usually not intentional. However, this new model has a great new feature that will find favour with those of you into Drifting ! The newest possible offering from Toyota will lean into corners ! Full details and pictures can be seen at the following link. http://finance.ninem...iroad.slideshow :no2: :no2: :no2: :no2: :no2: :no2: Cheers Banjo Quote

ke70dave Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 I have seen that thing somewhere along time ago. I reckon its been a concept for sometime. At least the "leaning" idea has anyway. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Looks great until you lean it over the centre line, and die. And there is no way in the world it will be powered by a k motor. Quote
ke70dave Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Exactly where is this rumour about the k series from? Quote
coln72 Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 As someone with experience in racing trikes, that leaning idea is great. Now, how to build it into the next design.............. Quote

parrot Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Exactly where is this rumour about the k series from? "The new i-ROAD offers three distinct drive modes that help tailor dynamic performance to the driver's needs. The drive modes - Normal, Eco, and Sport -are made available through driver-selectable switches. In Sport mode, throttle response is enhanced and steering effort is weighted from centre to offer a sportier character. Eco changes throttle response and A/C power usage to help improve fuel economy. Steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters help provide a sportier drive while in the D or S Mode, where the revised throttle helps improve shift response to help maximize engine power and vehicle performance. The all new 9KG-E 1800cc engine eschews turbo charging technology returning to the purity of naturally aspirated induction roar, whilst retaining the in block camshaft to additionally pressurize the fuel charge, ensuring emissions expected of today's advanced vehicles."
