CD_rollaman Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 So who from Adelaide wants to give me a hand to swap the engine? Cheers Mick Depends entirely on your suburban location. Quote

Raven Posted February 24, 2006 Author Report Posted February 24, 2006 Just picked up the car trailer tonight. Will get some happy snaps when i pick it up tomorrow :locked: Quote
Raven Posted February 25, 2006 Author Report Posted February 25, 2006 Update *1* Ok, i've got the car home. I managed to get it started and drive it onto the trailer so no winching required and it started first pop when i took it off the trailer, running on 2 and sometimes 3 cylinders. Anyway, i drive it into the driveway and pop the bonnet. Check all the leads and distributor cap and notice cylinders 3 & 4 arent firing and that the dizzy contact points are corroded and the rotor button is dirty. So i clean up the rotor button. So, i start it up and it starts running on 3, so i pull the choke out and it sounds like its running on 3 all the time so i give it a rev and voila, its running on all 4. I check the radiator, No oil in the water. Check the oil cap, its not milky. Go around to a mates shed and degrease the engine and pull the leads off the dizzy. Number 4 lead is stuck in the dizzy. So i pull it out and its corroded heaps in there. So yes Valandor, it was an electrical problem. It needs a tune and tappets adjusted but other than that its all sweet. Pics will be up later tonight.
