z|gen Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 hey, was having a look at the guage cluster in the wagon, and was wondering if anyone knew if the cluster out of a TE71 (might be a T18) in aussie would fit in without having to change the whole dash? looking at the one with the oil pressure guage, and volt guage etc. - David Quote
Valandor Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 yeah it was jason with teddys help. i think the only thing they had to do was the wiring Quote
Teddy Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 T18 dash into Ke70 = not easy. took jason (electrical nerd) and i 3 days of going.. ugh... wtf.. to get it all setup and working, minus a working oil pressure sensor. Then theres the dash that needs to be cut up to support the wider display.. yada yada yada ! looks good tho.. ill bug jase to pull his finger out and get some new pics.. its actually nearly ready to go back into the car :locked: Quote
Jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 also there are 2 differant types, the ugly one (with ke70 type dials) and the one with a more modern look, kinda same layout as a sprinter one. don't bother if you don't get that one Quote
z|gen Posted February 23, 2006 Author Report Posted February 23, 2006 hmm...if it involves cutting the dash, then i can't be bothered lol thanks for the help. il stick with the factory one.. chur Quote
Valandor Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 jsut do custom dials if you want something differnt Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 there were two different dashes; the sedan ones and the hardtop/liftback ones. the herdtop/liftback wont fit unless you swap the WHOLE dash the sedan ones will, i'm selling bubba's, no taco, has a digital clock an i painted the surround white Quote
st.nick Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Pull it all out, build a carbonfibre surround, whack in a big tacho and a 3-digit LCD display(for the speedo), and warning LEDs if anything starts to behave wrongly... :jamie: Quote
