Where I come from its called selling out. Like when your favourite band suddenly goes mainstream and stops writing there own songs.

It helps cut down on development costs, plus Toyota have some sharing-deal going on with BMW anyway (we give you cutting-edge hybrid tech, you give us awesome small-car diesel stuff

 

And if it's anything like the 86, don't expect it before 2017-2020...
