supra2 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Report Posted August 14, 2014 Not much happening at the moment Stephen. The head is waiting for some more machine work and then the cams have to be re shimmed. The car is all but finished. Just the sump guard mounts to make after its dynoed and a foot brace for the nav. Hirstglen has been canceled this weekend due to the weather so Iam not missing anything. Before we stopped the last dyno, we pulled a few bedding in runs with a very basic tune and soft timing to 5000rpm and it was showing 125bhp with a very straight torque curve. It looks good to make close to 200bhp. Its going to be a slow few weeks waiting on other people, but Ill take some photos of something on the weekend. Hows the new 70 coming along? Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 Abysmal! He's got an intensive school for one week of these holidays and a "handling chemicals" course in the other, so no time on the car from back in June sometime until the end of the year after exams and work experience... Next year we should be right! He finished Uni this year and then we can concentrate on important things! Quote
supra2 Posted August 15, 2014 Author Report Posted August 15, 2014 looks like it might be a battle of the Rolla Rally Cars next year. Took a few photos with the bonnet and mud flaps fitted. Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Hey Craig look what I got today, new rally car haha Quote
supra2 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Report Posted August 16, 2014 Damn. When you want one, you can't find any and when your not looking there everywear. lol. Quote
Tough_little_ke20 Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Yeh, I just buy them and put them in the corner till I'm ready to build them Quote
supra2 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Couple of pics of the finished inside. The head is at PLR in Brisbane this week getting machined to take the over size cam buckets. Quote
kickn5k Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) Very, very nice Craig! Can't wait to see the photos of it sideways and dirty. Edited August 19, 2014 by kickn5k Quote
Jono.C Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 I might have missed it but what diff centre are you running? Supra LSD or Tru-Track or something? Quote
supra2 Posted August 20, 2014 Author Report Posted August 20, 2014 Ive locked up a F series Celica/Supra centre for this one. The standard Supra LSD does'nt work very well. Ive also used a Torson/True Track before, its ok but still not ideal for gravel rallies. Quote
snot35 Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Very nice. I'm keen to see shots of it in its' natural habitat :) Quote
Clapped out Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 How is the progress going with this beast? Did you get the engine back together? cheers! Quote
supra2 Posted August 29, 2014 Author Report Posted August 29, 2014 Picked up the head today.Ill work out the new shin sizes this week end and order them on Monday. The new buckets are 3mm bigger than standard and you can see the amount of alloy removed to clear the big cam lobes. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 Looks like some big buckets. What are they out of? Quote
supra2 Posted August 30, 2014 Author Report Posted August 30, 2014 They come as part of the performance valve train kit from LC Engineering. Quote
